Merion Golf Club members dominated the day at the second annual J. Wood
Platt Cup, winning both the Gross and Net categories in the Men’s Division.

Old York Road Country Club. The J. Wood Platt Cup was held on Sept. 26 at
Applebrook Golf Club. The event is open to all Platt Caddie Scholarship donors
who have given at the BIRDIE Level and above.
REECE TO SPEAK AT BRUNCH
The J. Wood Platt Caddie Scholarship announces that CBS 3 lead
sports anchor and former NFL defensive back Beasley Reece will be the
keynote speaker at the 2011
Caddie Brunch set for Dec. 17
at Huntingdon Valley Country
Club. Reece is a three-time
Emmy winner and has earned
12 Associated Press awards.
Reece was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in 1976 and also
played for the New York Giants
and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
After retiring from football in
1985, he began to flex his
broadcasting muscle, covering
everything from Little League
games to the Eagles 2005
Super Bowl appearance. In addition to Philadelphia, Reece has worked
in the television markets of St. Petersburg, Fla. and Hartford, Conn.
